Window sticker campaign for Kemptville Outdoor Rink underway

The Kemptville Outdoor Rink is getting a boost from Jonsson’s Independent. The local grocery store is running a window sticker campaign to bring in money for the project. People can make a $2 donation or more towards the rink. The campaign runs until August 19. Owner Steve Jonsson says the it’s about spreading the word.

Southgate Community Church is building an outdoor rink that will be free for the whole community to use. The church has submitted an application to get the Canada 150 Rink from Parliament Hill. Word about whether the application was successful is expected in the next couple weeks. Jonsson says his customers make all the difference when it comes to fundraising for local projects.

Jonsson’s Independent is also hosting a BBQ to bring in dollars for the rink. The event is set for this Saturday from 11:00am to 2:00pm. Kemptville 73’s players will be on site. Piller’s is donating all the product for the BBQ, so 100 per cent of the proceeds will go to the rink.
