Merrickville-Wolford has four candidates for mayor, eight for councillor

The 2018 municipal election for Merrickville-Wolford is underway. Nominations closed on Friday at 2:00pm.

There are four people running for mayor. Incumbent David Nash is being challenged by former mayor Doug Struthers, deputy mayor Anne Barr and councillor Chuck MacInnis.

Eight people have thrown in their hats to run for councillor. The number of councillors is dropping from six to four this year. The new councillor positions are broken down by ward: two for Wolford and two for Merrickville. Yves Grandmaitre, Dan Halpenny, Michael Cameron and Mark Scullino are running for the Wolford seats. Tony Iannazzo, Victor Suthren, Timothy Molloy and Bob Foster are running for the Merrickville ward.

The election is set for October 22.
