Henry Oosterhof puts name forward for Conservative Party nomination

Elizabethtown-Kitley resident Henry Oosterhof is seeking the Conservative Party nomination for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has yet to call the federal by-election to fill the seat left vacant following the death of MP Gord Brown in May. Oosterhof says he has strong ties to the riding.

Oosterhof is a member of the Dairy Farmers of Ontario Board representing the area. He says the seed to enter politics dates back to grade 10 Canadian history class where his love of Parliamentary Democracy was born. Oosterhof says he will be a strong voice for the riding.

The vote to select a Conservative candidate for the federal by-election is set for sometime in August.
