Nearly $30,000 still up for grabs through Community Improvement Program

Property owners within the Rideau-Sanders-Prescott area may have a second chance to get their hands on some dollars. An overview of the Community Improvement Program (CIP) was provided to Committee of the Whole last night. A total of $21,047 will be handed out to six property owners this year. The 2018 budget for the program is $50,000. Economic Development Officer Matt Gilmer says a second intake of applications may be in order.

The purpose of the program is to provide financial incentives to stimulate the revitalization of downtown Kemptville. Grants of up to $5,000 in matching dollars can be applied for through the municipality to improve the look of properties. Gilmer says the program will be reviewed next year and possibly expanded down the road.

For more details about the program or how to apply, contact Gilmer by calling 613-258-9569.
