At a public meeting Monday night, a rep from D&G Landscaping confirmed that his previous concerns with the Maplestone Subdivision on County Road 43 had been satisfied and he removed his objection to the application. The resident said he felt the developer Adrian Schouten was proactive in determining the best use for the land, which requires a setback from a provincially significant wetland and is surrounded by sand and gravel reserves. Councillor Terry Butler said it’s a case of being ok with an airport but not the planes flying overhead. He is concerned that residents will be upset with future development of aggregates that surround the subdivision property. The Committee of the Whole resolved to recommend the zoning application to Council.
