Presentation about effect of diabetes on the eyes being held at KDH

The Kemptville District Hospital Diabetes Program is hosting an education session about diabetes and eyes. The presentation is set for June 28 at 7:00pm in the hospital’s Courtyard Lounge.

The guest speaker is Dr. Carla Eamon who has provided eye care in North Grenville for three decades. Her presentation will describe diabetic damage in the eye, the potential complications of diabetes on vision and how to avoid them.

The event is open to the public. People in the Diabetes Education and Support Program have been invited and their families and friends are encouraged to come along.

The KDH offers a full range of diabetes education and support services, including day and evening group sessions, individual counseling, insulin initiation, grocery store tours and telephone support. All of these services are free and self-referrals are welcome.
