No need to dirty dishes on a Friday night! Jonsson’s Independent is hosting a fundraising barbecue tomorrow from 3:30 to 6:30pm. Hot dogs and sausages will be served and every dollar will go to the outdoor rink project at Southgate Community Church. Owner Steve Jonsson says the rink will benefit everyone.
After bringing business owners together in May, Southgate is pushing forward with the outdoor rink that will be free for the whole community to use. The project will cost about $300,000. Jonsson says he’s happy to be involved.
Jonsson’s is donating all the food for the barbecue so 100 per cent of the proceeds will go to the rink project. Southgate is hoping to break ground in September and have the rink up and running by this winter.
