Tranquil Acres Open House to support first responders with PTSD

Tranquil Acres is hosting an Open House to raise money for the Heroes Equine Learning Program (H.E.L.P.). The event is set for this Sunday, from 11:00am to 3:00pm, in Kars. There is no cost and everyone is welcome to attend. Tranquil Acres Owner Ryan Theriault says the proceeds from the barbecue and bake sale will go to the program.

H.E.L.P. is a four-day residential program for military personnel and first responders with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This is the eighth year for the Open House, which generally brings in about $2,000. Theriault says the program makes a difference in people’s lives.

The event includes visiting with the horses at Tranquil Acres, games, raffles and local vendors. For more information about the program, check out the Heroes Equine Learning Program Facebook page.
