Rainbow Flag flies in North Grenville to mark Pride Month

The Municipality of North Grenville is flying the Rainbow Flag for the first time. A flag raising ceremony was held today at the Municipal Centre. The flag will fly throughout June to mark Pride Month across Canada. Rainbow Union Dundas & Grenville Founder Holly Brown says the group advocates for LGBTQ2 family members and individuals.

Rainbow Union, through a partnership with the Ontario Parenting Connection, submitted the request to fly the flag to North Grenville Council. The resolution was passed last week. Brown says the flag raising is for everyone in the LGBTQ2 community.

The local grassroots organization promotes inclusiveness and education. The group meets once a month to advocate and form connections. For more details about the group, check out the Rainbow Union Dundas & Grenville Facebook page.
