Educators and volunteers were recognized at the annual Upper Canada District School Board Awards Night. The event was held at North Grenville District High School on Monday.
The Excellence Award, Volunteer of the Year Award, Director’s Award of Merit and the Ontario Principals’ Council Award of Character were handed out.
Director Stephen Sliwa says the board is pleased to recognize excellence in their staff and community members and to thank them for the valuable contributions they make to students.
Volunteer of the Year Awards went to 11 people across the board. There were 12 recipients of the Service Excellence Awards, including Debbie Morand from Kemptville Public School.
The Director’s Award of Merit was handed out to 15 people. Â
Chair Jeff McMillan says the board is proud to honour people who help their system advance student learning through volunteerism, acts of caring and quality service.
