Election Night Results

Update #2: With 21 of 96 polls reporting, PC candidate leads the vote in Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes with 9,497 votes or about 60 percent. NDP candidate Michelle Taylor has 3,146 votes or about 20 percent. In third David Henderson, Liberal candidate has 2,322 votes, 14 percent. Green candidate Derek Morley has 809 votes(5 percent). And trailing is Libertarian Bill Buckley with 107 votes.

UPDATE #1: as we wait for results to start coming in let’s look at the provincial race. The latest IPSOS poll suggested that Doug Ford’s Progressive Conservative party has 39-percent of the popular vote and likely headed for a majority win, but don’t count Andrea Horwath’s NDP part out yet. That same survey suggests they are just behind the PC’s at 36-percent. The Liberals trailed far behind at 19-percent. But what tonight will come down to is how every voter in Ontario felt when they marked their “X” in the box beside a candidate’s name.

The polls are now closed. Votes have been cast at 70 polling stations across Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes.

Juice FM will keep you posted as the results start to roll in. The four candidates for our riding are: Progressive Conservative incumbent Steve Clark, Liberal David Henderson, NDP Michelle Taylor and Green Party Derek Morley.

We’ll continue to bring you updates right here as results come in locally and provincially.
