OPP handing out free Froster coupons to kids this summer

The OPP have launched Operation Freeze. Officers across the province will be handing out positive tickets to kids they see doing good things, like wearing a helmet while biking or helping a friend in need. The positive tickets are coupons for a free Froster at Mac’s Convenience Stores. The launch was held in Kemptville today. Sergeant Avery Bassett says the operation is about making connections with youth.

Over 300,000 positive tickets have been handed out to kids since 2010. Operation Freeze runs throughout the summer every year and Operation Heat starts up in the fall. Officers hand out coupons for hot chocolate during the colder months, also in partnership with Mac’s. Constable Maureen O’Grady says the purpose is to create safer communities.

Grade 8 students from St. Michael Catholic High School took part in the launch and got free Frosters. For more information about Operation Freeze, visit opp.ca.
