Lewis Bridge rehabilitation to cost $308,000

A tender for the rehabilitation of Lewis Bridge has been recommended to council. The final vote is set for tonight. The recommendation is that the project be awarded to Clearwater Structures Inc., totalling $308,145. Superintendent of Environmental Services Mike Finley says the rehabilitation is part of the budget.

The tender was issued in April and review of applicants was completed by HP Engineering. Clearwater’s tender was judged to be the ‘best potential value,’ according to the municipal staff report. Finley says road closures will be necessary.

The work includes partial concrete deck and soffit repairs, repairs to traffic barriers, replacing armoured joints, reconstruction of the ballast wall, installation of new concrete curb and gutters and remove and replace approach steel guide rails. For the full report, visit northgrenville.ca.
