A Kemptville student’s science project made it to the podium. Sophie Healey took the bronze medal at the Canada-Wide Science Fair earlier this month. The grade 8 student at North Grenville District High School competed against 500 other young scientists at the fair. Healey says her project was about time perception.
The question she asked was ‘if you have a meeting at 9:00am Wednesday and your colleague calls and says the meeting has been moved ahead two days, when is the meeting?’ Half the people Healey asked said Monday and the other half said Friday. She says age played a role in the way people answered.
The Canada-Wide Science Fair was held at Carleton University. Healey made it to the fair after placing second at the regional science fair in Brockville.
