Restructuring of municipal department adds $17,100 to budget

The municipality is restructuring the corporate services department at an additional cost of $17,100 this year. The move follows the recent resignations of Director of Finance/Treasurer Nicole Zywicki and Deputy Treasurer/Accounts Payable Clerk Kirsten Rahm. CAO Brian Carré says the restructuring was done with cost savings in mind.

The restructuring involves four steps: separating the Deputy Treasurer and Accounts Payable Clerk positions, removing the Deputy Treasurer functions from the Tax Collector position, eliminating the position of Senior Municipal Client Service Representative and replacing it with a second Municipal Client Service Representative and separating the Director of Finance and Treasurer positions. Carré says the end result is a new full-time position and a payroll increase.

The restructuring was passed at a  special council meeting following the regular committee of the whole on Monday night to speed up the process and fill the municipal vacancies. The full report can be found at northgrenville.ca.
