Nurses at Winchester District Memorial Hospital received awards during nursing week.
Nursing Executive Lynn Hall says “The week provides an opportunity to recognize the outstanding compassionate and safe care nurses provide to patients all year long.”
Nursing week ran from May 7 to 12.
Callie Laurin received the Lifelong Learner Award. Callie began as a Registered Practical Nurse and completed her degree while working and raising two young children.
Her nominator says “Callie is an eager learner and always jumps in to learn more. She has a thirst for knowledge and never backs down from a challenge.”
The Nursing Leadership Award was presented to Carol Kimball who is a Registered Nurse in Dialysis. Her nominator says “Carol is a phenomenal nurse who always offers words of encouragement, respect and support to fellow nurses and patients alike. She is professional and brightens the day for fellow colleagues and patients.”
