The 2018 season of the 1000 Islands and Rideau Canal Garden Trail launched last week.
United Counties of Leeds and Grenville Economic Development Manager Ann Weir says there are 14 public and private gardens that have opened themselves up to the public.
Some of the other gardens include the Maitland Garden of Hope and A Labour of Love. Weir says there are brochures at the Brockville and District Tourism Department, adding the private gardens require a call ahead.
She says garden tourism is something people want to be experience in the area because of the area’s natural beauty. Weir adds there is often an artistic or historic aspect to the gardens.
