The Merrickville United Church is the place to be this weekend. In partnership with the Merrickville United Arts Centre, the church is launching three days of entertainment Friday night. First on the docket is Diego the Comedy Hypnotist. Doors open at 6:00pm on Friday. Reverend Matt Gallinger says the partnership helps bring in funds for the church.
On Saturday night, beginning at 6:30pm, a 16-piece swing band will hit the stage. There will be Second World War reenactors marching from the Merrickville fairgrounds to the church on Sunday morning. The reenactors will be in town throughout the weekend for the Merrickville Liberation Festival. Tickets for Friday and Saturday are $15 per person. The money will be put towards operational costs for the church. Gallinger says the church is moving in a positive direction financially.
