North Grenville Councillor Jim Bertram continues to battle cancer. Bertram took a leave of absence from his duties as Councillor back in March due to health reasons. He is about to start his third round of chemotherapy on Tuesday. Bertram says stepping away from his council duties has been difficult.
Bertram suffers from Crohn’s disease, in addition to cancer. He says he will run for Councillor in the upcoming municipal election despite his health issues.
He stays on top of council matters through email. His doctors have given him an 80 per cent chance of survival. Â
