North Grenville taxes set to increase 0.2 per cent this year

The tax rate for North Grenville could be set next week. The increase of 0.2 per cent for 2018 was presented to committee of the whole on Monday night. Director of finance Nicole Zywicki says the municipal budget was approved back in December.

The education and county tax rates have now been factored in. Zywicki says the county rate did not increase and the education rate decreased.

The increase equals $1,125 for every $100,000 assessed property value, which is up $2.40 from 2017. Final tax bills will be mailed out the first week of June and are due by the end of the month. Final approval of the tax rate is set for next Monday.
