Two more candidates for Merrickville-Wolford and North Grenville

Two more people have put their names forward to run for council in Merrickville-Wolford and North Grenville. Yves Grandmaitre has submitted a nomination package to run for councillor in Wolford. Deron Johnston is running for councillor in North Grenville.

Grandmaitre is part of the Leeds Grenville Municipal Coordinators team working on the Business Retention and Expansion (BR+E) program for Augusta, Merrickville-Wolford and Rideau Lakes. Johnston ran for councillor in the 2014 municipal election.

Candidates could begin submitting nominations packages last week.

Merrickville-Wolford deputy mayor Anne Barr and North Grenville Councillor Frank Onasanya are both seeking re-election. Barr is running for mayor and Onasanya for councillor.

Nominations are open until July 27 at 2 p.m. Candidates can begin campaigning as soon as they put their names forward.
