One of the applications denied for funding was the Old Town Kemptville BIA for a music in the park event. Chair Debbie Wilson asked why the request for $500 towards their project was not approved. Deputy-Mayor Barb Tobin explained that the committee was actually excited about the project idea but it came down to a lack of a budget.
Tobin says it might not be too late for the BIA to receive the funding in the future.
If the grants are approved at next week’s council meeting, more than $2,000 will be left for future intakes.
