Jonathan Pitre has passed away.
Pitre died Wednesday evening in a Minnesota hospital at the age of 17, according to the Ottawa Citizen.
Pitre was admitted to the hospital last week when he had a fever.
The young man was well known in Ottawa and throughout the surrounding regions as “The Butterfly Child”. He was born with epidermolysis bullosa, a painful skin condition.
