North Dundas Manor Dreams Day

Last week at Dundas Manor Long-Term Care Home the Dreams day event was held to shine a light on 10 of its residents by showcasing some of their achievements.

One of the honourees included Dave Given, who was presented with a book he wrote almost 30 years ago about rock and roll. The home’s five centenarians, Pearl Burd, Kay Bower, Mary Toppazzini, Lorna Ferguson and Yvette Banning were also recognized for this significant milestone with a homemade quilt for each of their beds. Shirley Billings, Alice Roach, and Hazel Hartwell were honoured for their skills in knitting which they do for both the annual bazaar and loved ones. Resident Ron Ashby was noted as the home’s green thumb and his commitment to putting a plan in place and making it happen was a great lesson for everyone. Finally, Doug Gallagher was named honorary member of the Dundas Manor activities team.

Activity Director Jennifer Hill summed up the event by saying all the residents inspire us to keep digging, to keep dreaming and to keep on supporting. She adds they are so grateful to come and spend their days with the manor’s residents.
