Clark comments on Transcom closure in Brockville

About Eighty people will be out of work when Transcom closes the doors to its call centre in Brockville.

The news was given to employees at the facility on Monday, according to the Brockville Recorder.

The closure will come before the end of March.

MPP Steve Clark says he was saddened to hear about the news. Clark’s constituency office is located in the same building as the business. Clark believes the problem is with the province.

Clark doesn’t blame the minimum wage but the way it’s been implemented.

The company is reportedly looking at operating with a number of work-at-home agents as well as employees in the Philippines.
