Local racetrack wins business of the year award
Brockville Ontario Speedway has been named the Elizabeth-Kitley Business of the Year.
The speedway’s owners, Paul and Cheryl Kirkland, were presented with the award at the annual Elizabeth-Kitley Council and Economic Development Committee Business of the Year luncheon. The luncheon was attended by Committee Chairman Blake McKim and township staff including Mayor Jim Pickard.
The couple have run the business for 24 years and the ‘Bullring’ as it is affectionately known, attracts more than 60,000 visitors every year. The rest of the nominees were also recognized at the luncheon, they included Precision Contracting, Ravenhorst Motors Limited, McCan Mechanical, City Glass Windows and Doors, and Green Things Garden, Gift and Maintenance Services.
