The OPP is introducing a new billing model that the government says will simplify, clarify and more evenly distribute costs among municipalities. Municipalities that pay the OPP for local law enforcement will be getting more detailed bills and most will see their policing costs rise over the next five years. Some municipalities are paying less than 10 dollars a year per household, while others pay more than 800 dollars per year. The new model takes effect the first of January, 2015.
