A petition in support of expanding County Road 43 in Kemptville has been handed over to the provincial government.
Leeds-Grenville MPP Steve Clark tabled the petition with more than 300 signatures at Queen’s Park yesterday to press for infrastructure funding to widen the road to four lanes.
Clark says the government has 24 sitting days to respond in writing to Clark’s petition.
When asked, Clark says the number of signatures on the petition didn’t really matter, it was a starting point to get things moving.
The petition was launched earlier in the summer after, what Clark says was frustration and concern expressed by the public and local elected officials over the province’s failure to support the $30 million project.
