Highway 417 will be expanded so it is safer and more efficient for drivers, with less congestion to improve domestic and international trade.
The province says it will be investing about $47-million towards the project, with the federal government matching that amount.
The project will expand the highway from six to eight lanes between Maitland Avenue and Island Park Drive in Ottawa, along with helping to repair the Merivale Road Bridge.
