Seaway Surge Peewees wrap up an exciting weekend

After getting off to a rough start on Friday at the Montreal Rockies Invitational Tournament, the peewee Surge baseball team rebounded and won both games on Saturday. On Friday, the recent slump of the Surge continued as the boys could never seem to find a gap or a break, while the opposition manufactured runs off bloop hits that always seemed to be out of reach for the Surge.

The luck turned on Sunday as the Surge put on a hitting clinic versus Ottawa West in a 21-6 victory. In the second game, the boys once again found themselves in a hole, but the boys remained composed as they fought their way back despite being down 11-5 half-way through the game. In the bottom half of the last inning, the Surge rallied with 5 runs, 3 of them with two outs and won 12-11 over the NDG Lynx.

The Peewee team are now idle for a week as they get ready to host their tournament July 7-10th.
