Rideau Canal summer schedule extended this year

There will be more time to enjoy our heritage waterway this boating season. Parks Canada is adding 112 hours to the schedule over the summer. Beginning the Canada Day weekend, the Rideau Canal lock stations will operate from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fridays through Sundays and holidays during the summer months. Gord Brown, Member of Parliament for Leeds-Grenville, made the announcement on Monday, on behalf of the Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, the Minister of the Environment responsible for Parks Canada. Services and hours have been extended to support tourism, economic development and to help Canadians connect with the beauty and incredible experiences along the Rideau Canal Heritage Route. Learn more and find the full hours of operation on the Parks Canada website.
