The Ministry of Labour, along with the Ottawa Police Service, are investigating injuries of five participants in a joint training exercise Wednesday morning. Three members of the Ottawa Paramedic Service and two members of the Ottawa Police Service were injured during the exercise on March Rd. Participants, including members of the RCMP, were using energetic materials and a controlled explosion when the injuries occurred. The two police officers suffered minor injuries. Of the three Ottawa Paramedics injured, two sustained serious injuries and one minor injuries. The Ontario Special Investigations Unit has been advised of the incident.
