World TB Day is March 24th. The Leeds, Grenville & Lanark District Health Unit reports although the number of tuberculosis cases in Canada has declined, TB continues to be present in specific populations.
You should be tested for TB: if you have immigrated from or spent time in a country where TB is common; if you have spent time with a person who has active TB; if you live in an aboriginal community where TB is common; if you work in health care, live in a communal setting or use injection drugs.
