Title transfer delayed; Aquatarium open to visitors

Brockville Aquatarium developer Simon Fuller maintains the title transfer has nothing to do with daily operations of the city’s new tourist attraction. The two matters are separate and that’s a good thing, because the title transfer is still tied up with the city. Fuller had said he was going to explain the delay in an editorial piece written for the media, but he has decided to leave talks with the city confidential.

According to the details of federal funding, the city must hold title on the Aquatarium for ten years, or face penalties. After that time frame, the city will hand the title over to the non-profit corporation that operates the facility. The tourist attraction is a freehold property inside the Tall Ships Landing condo building, which the city will own as soon as a title is handed over.
