A team is now being assembled for the 2nd annual event, for everything from driving the shuttle bus to bar staff, parking attendants, security and more. Organizers at a recruitment fair last week said volunteers need to commit to two four-hour shifts during the weekend. In exchange, they get free admission to the rest of the festival. Volunteers can also camp for free.
Roughly 5,500 music lovers attended last year’s three-day event. This year changes are being made to accommodate the even larger crowd anticipated. Organizers report already more campers than last year have registered through the website to stay the weekend on the college grounds. Additional stops will be added to the shuttle runs to make it easy for locals to get to the festival. And this year, parking will be available on site as well.
Last year over 120 volunteers worked together to make this event a success for Kemptville. Volunteers receive training on site prior to opening night. For more information, head to www.kemptvillelivemusicfestival.com.
