In a report from the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority to council June 9th, the Kemptville Creek was downgraded from a “good” to “fair” rating. The decline, which took place over the last 12 years, is due to a surplus of nitrogen and phosphorus. No immediate action is being taken but it is in the municipality’s best interest to improve the water way as a tourist attraction and the issue will be taken into consideration when applying for funding projects.
