An Augusta Township man is facing impaired driving charges after crashing his vehicle on the 401. Around 7:30 on Wednesday, February 10th, Grenville County OPP were called to a collision on Churchill Road in Prescott. A pickup truck had narrowly missed hitting a pedestrian before striking a hydro pole. The driver then left the scene of the accident.
The truck was seen just minutes later on the 401 where it hit the median and spun out of control, landing in the ditch. No one was hurt in either crash. Police arrested the 29-year-old driver. He was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failure to remain at the scene of an accident, impaired driving and possession of marijuana.
