Children’s Mental Health hosting open house

The community is invited to come check out all Children’s Mental Health of Leeds and Grenville (CMHLG) has to offer. The organization is hosting an open house at its new Kemptville location. The event is set for February 27, from 12:00 noon to 1:30pm, at 79 Shearer Street on the Kemptville Campus.

Executive Director Lorena Crosbie says it’s an opportunity to see the space, meet staff and get information about the services available through CMHLG. She noted the move has brought CMHLG closer to its partners, including the Kemptville District Hospital and Health Unit.

Crosbie explained the organization serves children and youth up to the age of 18.

A walk-in clinic is held every Wednesday, from 11:00am to 7:00pm, and a new partnership with Parents’ Lifelines of Eastern Ontario (PLEO) means that caregivers can access support on site.

CMHLG also provides intensive services, counselling and group services.

Crosbie says there has been an increase in referrals, which shows that word is getting out about the organization. She noted the goal is to keep wait times to a minimum and ensure people get the services they need when they need them.
