One Dead In South Glengarry Train Collision

UPDATE: Stormont Dundas and Glengarry OPP says a third teen was also walking on the bridge but wasn’t struck by the train. That teen is a 17-year-old from Montreal. The young man that was killed was a 16-year-old teen from Dorval. The other man who suffered minor injuries was a 15-year-old teen from South Glengarry.

One man is dead and another in hospital after both men were hit by a train near Celtic Lane in South Glengarry.

Stormont Dundas and Glengarry OPP says shortly before 8pm on Monday night, two men were walking on a portion of the the CN Rail bridge when they were both struck by a VIA Rail train.

The OPP says one man was pronounced dead at the scene while the other was transported to hospital by paramedics with minor injuries. The identity of the deceased man is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The OPP says the investigation in ongoing.
