Kemptville 73’s want to expand dressing room

The Kemptville 73’s are hoping to get the go ahead to build a second floor to their dressing room.

The new ownership has requested permission to build the second floor as a way to allow stationary bikes to be used by players to cool down after a game. It would also allow trainers to work on players needing attention.

Part of the expansion includes a window that would allow players to see the ice surface from the second floor. That requires raising the score clock in Rink 1 at the Municipal Centre to install the window. Deputy-Mayor Barb Tobin says she really likes the idea of the window element.

Costs of the expansion would be covered by the team with the room becoming the property of the municipality after it is built.

North Grenville Council will vote on the expansion on Monday.
