Kemptville District Hospital will soon double outpatient services

Kemptville District Hospital will soon be able to double the amount of outpatient services it offers.

Officials with the hospital released a statement saying an expansion project they are working on was driven by public consultations in 2016 that indicated an increased demand in the region for outpatient services focused on youth, seniors, those living with chronic illnesses, and increased access to surgeons and other specialists.

While officials say KDH can’t currently meet the demands due to space constraints, a Clinic Modernization Project will update existing old clinic spaces and renovate underutilized space to double the outpatient services at KDH.

Part of the project will be to create a private visiting or grieving space for families within the hospital.

Officials also say that extended hours will also be offered.

The project is about 75 percent complete and KDH representatives believe the project should be wrapped up in late September.
