In addition to Oxford-on-Rideau Public School, a number of other schools continue to be slated for closure.
Trustees at the Upper Canada District School Board voted to go ahead with the final staff recommendations in the Pupil Accommodation Review. Wolford Public School is one of the schools on the list. It’s set to be closed in September of 2018. Also on the list is Benson Public School in Edwardsburgh/Cardinal. That school is set to close in September.
Maynard Public School is also on the list but requires a rebuild of Wellington Elementary School in Prescott to be approved by the Ministry of Education before the move can be made.
In total 12 schools are on the list to be closed.
