The opening date this year for the St. Lawrence Seaway has been set for March 20th.
With the seaway reopening, commercial ships and pleasure crafts will again be able to tread water.
Andrew Bogora, Communications Officer with the St. Lawrence Seaway Management, says the opening of the locks signifies the turn of the season.
Bogora noted that pleasure craft riders should adhere to the coast guard’s advice as to when it is safe to take vehicles out on the water again.
