The Canada Day Committee would like to see Canada flags and flagpoles installed in some of North Grenville’s hamlets.
The request was presented to members of council at Monday night’s Committee of the Whole meeting.
The biggest concern according to some members of council came down to the cost. Director of Parks and Rec Mark Guy pegged the cost of installing a single flagpole and flag at around $3,000.
Members of council will have a chance to vote on a motion to have staff look into the costs of installing flags and poles in the hamlets of Oxford Mills, Burritts Rapids, Bishops Mills and Heckston next Monday.
