Free shingles vaccines being offered to seniors this year

The province will be offering the shingles vaccine for free to those turning 65 this year.

The province says it is hoping this will encourage seniors to get the vaccine, and reduce their risk of developing an illness that affects one third of Canadians.

The free vaccine will save Ontarians about $170.

Symptoms of the illness include pain, tingling, itching, and rashes which can last for over a month.
