Leeds-Grenville MPP Steve Clark said Ontario’s craft distillery industry was shocked was the provincial government handed down a 61.5 percent tax to local distillers.
Clark says he doesn’t understand why a graduated tax wasn’t put in place instead to help the industry grow, as was done with the craft beer and Ontario winery industries.
Clark said he will be voting against the bill when it is debated in the House of Commons today.
