Family donates $2,000 to Kemptville Wildcats Baseball in memory of local man

Ted Cooper, who enjoyed pitching in Little League in Ottawa South, would be proud to see his grandson (Pictured) continuing in his footsteps. In memory of Ted, his family is donating $2000.00 for the purchase of a pitching mound for the Kemptville Wildcats organization.

KWBSC Vice President Warren O’Callaghan remembers Ted Cooper: “Ted was my Math teacher. He all but dragged me to the basketball court in grade 7 to try out for his team. When I told him that I didn’t know how to play basketball he said ‘Your job is to have fun, my job is to teach you the game’. I’ve never forgotten that and try to live by his words to this day in my own coaching.”

KWBSC thanks Ted’s family for their generous donation. To remember Ted and his commitment to sports in Kemptville the Executive will be awarding the Ted Cooper Memorial Sportsmanship Trophy at each division of Baseball.
